At Azur Confort, each piece of furniture is the fruit of expertise, combining the meticulous work of craftsmen and the precision of machines. In our French factory, our team passionately transforms rough-cut wood into high-quality, durable outdoor furniture. Every stage of the process, from chopping the wood to final assembly, is meticulously carried out to guarantee unique pieces that are built to last. Here’s how our expert hands and tools craft furniture made to embellish your terraces and withstand outdoor environments.
Working with raw wood
It all starts with the raw wood we receive in blocks, which is worked to produce pieces ready for assembly.
Wood debiting
This first stage involves cutting the wood into planks of the right size for the furniture. The wood is sawn in such a way as to maximise its yield and limit material losses. The sections obtained are then sorted according to their quality and future use.
Planing and levelling
Once cut, the boards are planed to obtain perfectly straight surfaces and eliminate any irregularities in the raw wood. These steps ensure that the boards are of uniform thickness, which is essential for precise assembly and a meticulous finish.
Processing the pieces
This stage involves shaping the furniture elements to match the planned design. The pieces are drilled, grooved and milled to ensure a solid, harmonious assembly.
Assembling the furniture
Once the pieces have been machined, they are assembled by hand using traditional woodworking techniques. The pieces are sanded and the furniture inspected to obtain smooth surfaces, ready for the next stage and the application of finishes.
Colours and finishes
After mounting, the wood receives a special treatment to stain it and improve its durability against the elements.
The final application depends on the type of finish you choose when customising your furniture. We offer three different finishes:
- Oiled finish: tints the wood while preserving its natural appearance.
- Woodstain finish: protects the wood with a coating that partially covers the wood grain. Available in ‘wood’ and coloured shades.
- Lacquer finish: adds colour and shine to furniture, exclusive to the ESTIU collection.
Assembling and packing
Orders are then carefully packaged and prepared for dispatch to our customers or reseller partners.
